Texas Wesleyan Enactus team advances to the 2017 National Exposition
The Texas Wesleyan Enactus team sponsored by Professor Megan Wright, Ph.D., and Professor Gokcen Ogruk, Ph.D., will head to the 2017 U.S Enactus National Expo in Kansas City, Miss. May 21-23. The team competed for the second consecutive year at the regional competition in Plano, Texas where they had the opportunity to present the projects they worked on throughout the academic year.
During the regional competition, the TXWES Enactus team presented their project that provided mentoring for women entrepreneurs and startups, educating community members and college students about wellness and fitness, and partnering with elementary schools in the Polywest area to promote literacy.
The Enactus United States National Exposition is full of dramatic, energy-filled events where teams showcase the collective impact of their community outreach efforts. Students present their projects and are evaluated by business leaders serving as judges who rank them on how successful they were at using business concepts to improve the quality of life and standard of living for those in need. The winners of these national competitions are then invited to compete at the prestigious Enactus World Cup. For more information, visit www.enactusunitedstates.org
