James Schmidt, Ph.D
About
Dr. Schmidt has a singular focus: being the absolute best teacher possible for the students enrolled in Texas Wesleyan’s Graduate Programs of Nurse Anesthesia. He joined the staff in 2009.
He enjoys teaching GPNA students because they are highly motivated and focused on their goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. They are going to learn everything they can while they’re here. As a teacher, when he prepares a lecture, he has to go way beyond what’s in the textbook.
He also stays current in his field, which is a challenge because science is evolving at a very rapid pace. Texas Wesleyan encourages professors to stay on the leading edge of knowledge and discovery, so attending professional seminars is fully supported.
The administration, faculty, staff, and the students are fully committed to the program. It’s a great environment.
