Simulation Symposium
Our second year nurse anesthesia students come back to campus in November of each year. This four day simulation training focuses on learning high-tech and low occurrence simulations. The symposium's goal is to further prepare students entering their clinical residency in January of each year.
Examples of simulations include:
- Difficult airway practice
- Double lumen tubes/bronchial blockers
- Fiberoptic skills
- Spinal/epidural placement
- Arterial lines
- Central vein access via ultrasound
One of the highlights of the symposium continues to be the Maverick peripheral anesthesia course with scanning of live models, and nerve blocks on prosected cadavers.
Volunteers
We would like to thank all of our volunteers that help to make our Simulation Symposium a success! In November 2024, we had over 40 third year residents and nearly 50 CRNA's that participated. The CRNA's also earn CEUs for their time helping to perpare students for clinical residency. THANK YOU!
Vendors
Anesthesia related Vendors participate each year providing information and give-a-ways to our students. Some vendors will provide presentations in the following areas:
- Types of care teams
- Interview tips
- Difference between a W2 and a 1099
We appreciate our Vendors who have participated in past Symposiums, including but not limited to:
