Bilingual Education Student Organization attends the Bilingual State Conference
Texas Wesleyan University bilingual education students (BESO) had the honor to attend the Texas Association for Bilingual Education (TABE) state conference. The BESO students attended the BESO Institution, where they received motivation to embark on their teaching journeys, learned about the valuable supports available through the U.S. Department of Education, and gained insights on how to better prepare for certification exams. Additionally, the students discovered opportunities to connect with the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) BESO network and explored other essential resources to help them thrive as bilingual educators.
Texas Wesleyan BESO students facilitated the state conference. They attended professional development sessions and assisted the presenters with the participants. BESO students attended keynote speakers sessions with speakers across the nation. Throughout the conference, the BESO students were able to network and learn from teachers and administrators in the field, representing the university in a very professional and honorable manner. The bilingual education faculty and students enjoyed the support received from the local affiliation BEAM, making this event a reality.
