Sumners Scholars Host an Election Night Watch Party

Students with a news screen above them, Science Lecture Theater

The Science Lecture Theater was filled with energy as almost 40 students gathered to watch and discuss the issues connected to the midterm election returns Tuesday evening, November 8. Discussions covered a range of topics from individual races, to reproductive rights following the Dobbs Supreme Court decision earlier this year. Texas Wesleyan Scholars hosted the event and provided pizza and soft drinks to those in attendance. To break the suspense, students participated in an election trivia contest and other election-related games.

If you are interested in becoming a Sumners Scholar, applications are now being accepted through Dec 7 for the 2023/2024 academic year.
