How will the degree work with my schedule?

The Master of Computer Science is flexible and built for your busy schedule. Classes are online so you can learn on your own schedule. Plus, we have plenty of 7-week starts so that you don't have to wait for the fall or spring semester, and you can complete your degree in as few as 18 months.

What are the admission requirements?

Interested in applying to the program? Here's what you'll need to start your degree.

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or comparable foreign degree) in one of the following:
    • A major in Computer Science or a related field
    • A major in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field and have successfully completed computer science courses such as Data Structures, C++, Java and Python
    • A non-STEM field with successful completion of Calculus II, Linear Algebra and Computer Science courses such as Data Structures, C++, Java and Python.
    • A GPA that meets the following requirements:
      • 3.0 GPA or higher
      • 2.5 overall GPA or a 2.75 last 60 hours GPA and with a minimum GRE score of 145 Verbal and 155 Quantitative
      • 2.5 GPA overall or 2.75 last 60 hours GPA and three years of work experience in a related field
  • English proficiency, which may be shown through one of the following:
    • A bachelor's degree from a U.S. institution
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79/213/550 (internet, computer, paper-based) that is less than two years old
    • IELTS score of 6.5
    • Other appropriate documents supporting English proficiency (approved as proof of English proficiency by Texas Wesleyan University only in rare circumstances)
  • Curriculum vitae or resume
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
