Doug Compton is the owner of First Management, Inc., a property management firm based in Lawrence, Kansas, as well as the separate entity First Construction LLC, a general contractor. In recent years, FMI and FC have become two of the major third-party general contractors in Lawrence and surrounding areas.
Prior to devoting his time primarily to real estate and growing his construction business, Doug pursued farming, retail and restaurant interests beginning in the 1980s. Recently, Doug has added to his personal portfolio by being an active developer with significant multi-family and commercial interests.
Every year Doug contributes to multiple local charities and has become a strong advocate for Texas Wesleyan. He has been a tireless supporter for the men’s basketball program, including providing leadership support for the renovation of their locker facilities. He is a member of the Board of Trustees, has been a generous annual donor to the University’s Wesleyan Fund, and has supported special funding initiatives including the new Nick and Lou Martin University Center.
Help celebrate Doug and his contributions to Texas Wesleyan at the Alumni Medal Dinner on Oct. 18 in the Martin Center.
