Johnnie Benson is celebrating her 70^th TXWES anniversary. At this year’s Alumni Reunion, April 19-21, we are honoring the classes of 1948, 1958, 1968, 1978, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2008 and 2013, but all alumni are welcome to be a part of the weekend festivities.

Johnnie had known of Texas Wesleyan prior to her attending the school, as she grew up in the Poly area. She knew she wanted to remain in the area hence, Texas Wesleyan was a school on her radar. Johnnie was very involved during her time at the University. She was elected freshman beauty, a member of Alpha Chi, a recipient of the Guardians of the Golden Shears, editor of the 1948 annual and was also May Queen in 1948. Johnnie was drawn to many aspects about the University including the small classes, faculty that care about the character development of their students and the sheer number of opportunities made available to individuals at Texas Wesleyan, which made her time at the University that much more special.

Johnnie lives in Fort Worth, TX and is a licensed Healthcare administer and a proud owner of a Healthcare consulting firm. Working in the Healthcare industry, Johnnie’s job requires her to educate people about the different facets of healthcare policies and this role has her interacting with many different types of people. Her involvement at Texas Wesleyan and exposure prepared her for the interactive component of her job.
