Check out the ways our RAMily has come together to support our students

07.06.2020 | By: Texas Wesleyan University
Willie Ram and represented Wesleyan proud at the first inaugural rally for North Texas Giving Day in Sundance Square.

When it really mattered, the Texas Wesleyan community’s commitment to our students showed not just through words, but through actions. Check out the many ways our community has come together to support our students.

Rams Relief
The Rams Relief Fund was created in response to our community’s desire to provide support. This generosity has raised over $60,000 to help our students persist to graduation by covering their tuition, fees, room and board and many other financial expenses during this time.

Student Tuition Aid Fund
The Smaller. Smarter. connection our university is known for took on a new life when our lives drastically changed this past March. Faculty and staff were so deeply moved by our students’ stories of struggle that they came together and created the Student Tuition Aid Fund. This special fund will allow faculty and staff to donate up to 5% of their salary to help students with tuition.

CARES Act
Thanks to emergency federal funding through the CARES Act, the university was able to distribute more than $900,000 to nearly 600 students who are going through unexpected financial hardships because of the pandemic.

Top-tier Ranking
Wondering how our response compares to other schools? We are one of only six universities in North Texas to be ranked in the top tier on how well we are responding to this crisis. And our work is not done yet. We’ve developed additional initiatives to meet the challenge head on. Our admissions team created virtual campus tours and a test-optional admissions process, making our top-tier education more accessible. Student Affairs is hosting outstanding virtual registration days that allow new students to interact with current students, faculty and staff and is continuing to help students and their families with invaluable career advice.

While we’ve seen such an overwhelming show of support, the crisis continues. Ensuring our students have the resources they need is our highest priority.
