Alicia considers the scholarship a tremendous blessing. She is grateful that the scholarship allows her to “focus on studies without having to worry so much about the cost of school.”
Smith is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music. “I plan on attending graduate school to study music therapy. I want to combine my love of music and my interest in psychology into one” she said.
"I like to volunteer for student events on campus including President’s Picnic and Midnight Madness," Smith, said. "I think it's great that the University provides opportunities for students to get involved and interact with incoming students. That's one of the best ways for potential students to get a picture of the University.”
Alicia is very involved at Texas Wesleyan. She was a Ram Camp leader and worked at transfer and freshman orientations over the summer.
There are many aspects about Texas Wesleyan that Alicia really loves, however, the one-on-one attention is her favorite part of the University.
“The professors here want their students to succeed so they do whatever they can to help” Smith, said.
