Meet the 2019-2020 alumni scholarship recipients

Every year, the Texas Wesleyan Alumni Association Board chooses select students to receive the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship. Meet our 2019-2020 recipients:

Melissa Rivera is a junior at Texas Wesleyan and a computer science major. Throughout the year she participates in events such as Expanding Your Horizons and TexPREP. Melissa aspires to pursue a career as a programmer and an educator. After graduation, she plans to initiate a STEM program that will involve robotics, programming and hands-on activities for high school students in Fort Worth.

Adrienne Smith is a junior who will graduate early. She’s a double major in general business and management, and is a member of the student organization Enactus in the school of business. After graduation, she plans to work in the HR field while working on her MBA. She also has future aspirations to attend law school.

Christina Olivas is a junior English major with secondary certification. She plans to pursue a career as a high school English teacher.

Catherine Pitre (pictured) is a senior forensic/fraud accounting major. She is president of Lambda Tau Zeta Sorority, and a member of several organizations including the Accounting Society, Mortar Board and President's Ambassadors. After graduation, she plans to earn her master's degree and sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. She’s interested in exploring the auditing field.
