The Texas Wesleyan University Athletic Department repeated as the Red River Athletic Conference’s best all-around athletic program by clinching the 2011-12 RRAC All-Sports Award.

This year, the Rams won five conference championships on their way to a second consecutive award. Texas Wesleyan finished in the top five in all 12 sports, while nine of its teams scored points toward the All-Sports Award.

The 2011-12 Rams claimed RRAC titles in men and women's cross country, men's golf and women's track and field before capping the year with a victory in the RRAC Softball Championship. Texas Wesleyan teams also reached the semifinals in men and women's basketball.

This year, the Rams produced 43 All-Conference Players, eight conference Players of the Year and three RRAC Coach of the Year selections.

The All-Sports Award is given annually to the RRAC member institution that performs best across the conference's sponsored sports in a given academic year. Points are awarded to the top five teams in each sport's conference tournament or championship event with each sport using a 10-8-6-4-2 scoring system and a maximum of 30 points per sport for the top finishers. The RRAC's 15 member institutions competed in 12 sponsored sports this year.
