What is a LibGuide?

03.31.2017 | By:

West Library has a new tool that can be useful for both faculty and students. It is called LibGuides, which can be used to create guides of Library resources for a specific subject or even a specific course. Guides can also be created to teach students about citation styles, how to use a database, how to do research and more.

The guides are useful because they are web-based and located on the Library’s homepage—you don't need to keep track of a paper guide, and they can be accessed as many times as they need. The guides can be accessed on a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone on campus and remotely. The guides can hold text, images, videos, quizzes and links to online library resources and other web pages. The content of the guides can be simple or complex, depending on need.

If you would like to see the guides already created for Texas Wesleyan courses and topics, please go to the West Library homepage and click on the Library Guides link. If you would like to have a guide created for a course, please contact the West Library Reference department at 817-531-4802 or email reference@txwes.edu.
