New semester checklist: Sign up for emergency and weather alerts
Starting a new semester means turning on the alarms so you don’t accidentally snooze through class. But your alarm to wake up isn't the only alert you need. Don’t miss knowing when there’s an emergency or campus is closed — sign up to get Texas Wesleyan’s emergency notifications.
We always recommend getting to know what our different alerts mean — no matter if you’ve been here for years or this is your first semester. Staying on top of the different alerts will help keep you safe.
And even though it doesn’t feel much like winter right now, we all know North Texas is notorious for random ice storms. With our alerts, you’ll be notified when campus has been closed.
If you’re living on campus when it’s closed, don’t fret. Our team is ready to help. From providing food and security to warming and phone charging stations, staff work to make sure on-campus students stay safe during a winter weather storm.
We also recommend keeping campus security’s number handy. For emergencies that require police, fire or medical services, call 911. The police will contact security if they receive an on-campus emergency call.
