The U.S. National Table Tennis Trials are coming to Texas Wesleyan

This weekend, March 7-9, the U.S. National Table Tennis Team Trials will be taking place in the Sid Richardson Gym.

Competitors ranging in ages from 10 to 50 from across the country, including current and former Texas Wesleyan players, will be competing for a spot on the U.S. National Team. Sponsored by the USATT, which is under the umbrella of the U.S. Olympic Committee, the bracket-style tournament will result in five top male players and five top female players. These top players will represent the USA in the World Table Tennis Championships in Japan this coming May.

Tournament schedule:

  • Friday, March 7 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 8 – 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 9 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission:

  • Texas Wesleyan students, faculty and staff - FREE
  • Kids 12 and under FREE
  • Adults: $8 for a day pass, $18 for a 3-day pass for the entire tournament

Why Texas Wesleyan as hosts?

Texas Wesleyan has a strong connection and history with sport of table tennis. The table tennis team is the leading collegiate program and has been the national collegiate champions for over a decade.  Last weekend, Texas Wesleyan won collegiate regional competitions in Atlanta and will go on to the national collegiate championships in Pennsylvania next month.
