Each year, United Way of Tarrant County helps more than 300,000 people to improve lives through its resources. United Way of Tarrant County has no fees on donor designations, with 100 percent of donations going to the selected agency or cause. If you want to help your community in their time of need, here are the ways United Way suggests.

United Way Emergency Relief Fund – Meals for the Elderly

Due to the temporary closing of dozens of facilities that provide meals to the elderly, United Way is requesting donations for the Emergency Relief Fund. 100% of these funds will go to purchasing meals for our most vulnerable population. There are three ways to donate:

  • Online
  • Text COVIDHELP to 91999
  • Venmo to @UW-TARRANTCOUNTY.

Sixty and Better

Sixty and Better provides meals to participants and offers a place for older adults to have fun, be well and stay connected. Now that the facilities are temporarily closed, they need help getting meals and essential items to local seniors. For more information and ways to help, please contact the Sixty and Better program at Info@SixtyAndBetter.org

Area Agency on Aging

Area Agency on Aging ensures their clients have an adequate supply of medications and prescriptions. They are in a constant need for volunteers and there are numerous ways you can help. Go to their website today or email them at tarrantcountyadrc@gmail.com

Meals on Wheels

Meals on wheels helps homebound, elderly and disabled clients receive nutritious meals. Individual and group volunteer opportunities are available. Visit them online to learn more, and for information on how to become a volunteer.

As we continue to experience the impact of the coronavirus in our own lives, please consider helping us serve our most vulnerable populations.
