Campus Security and Risk Management are teaming up to present emergency training for all university employees. Attendance is mandatory, sign-up today.

With spring weather upon us, and the ongoing importance of being prepared for emergency situations, Campus Security and Risk Management are hosting mandatory Emergency Preparedness Training sessions for all faculty and staff this spring.

The University is requiring that all faculty and staff members attend one of the sessions, all of which will be held in the Science Lecture Theatre in the McFadden Building. There are two more sessions planned for March.

Each session will teach faculty and staff members how to be ready for and react in a variety of potential campus emergencies. Some of the situations include:

  • Severe weather
  • Fire
  • Weapons
  • Medical emergencies

Chris Beckrich, head of Campus Security, will present each 45-minute training session. Other topics include how to respond in an active shooter or hostage situation, evacuation procedures, utilities information and Title IX compliance.

If you are unable to attend one of the sessions listed above, please notify Texas Wesleyan’s Risk Manager, Juan Azcarate, jazcarate@txwes.edu.
