Join the Upward Bound Programs at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, in the Science Lecture Theatre for the first-ever robotics competition. All Texas Wesleyan faculty and staff are invited to attend and watch as five student teams put their robots to the test.

The competition is part of a new Upward Bound Programs robotics summer class taught by Diamond Hill High School’s Walter Parada. This is the first time the Texas Wesleyan Upward Bound programs have offered robotics. Other classes currently offered are math, science, English, research (career and biology) and music appreciation.

The Upward Bound Programs serve 9th thru 12th-grade students from Polytechnic, Diamond Hill High, North Side and Trimble Tech high schools in FWISD. The goal of the program is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.
