Are you interested working in the chemical and biochemical industry or health professions? Are you preparing for graduate or professional school in the chemical sector? The chemistry department is designed for you. You'll take classes in every area of chemistry including organic, inorganic, physical, analytical and biochemistry.
Don't worry, you aren't stuck in a classroom for four years. You'll have the opportunity to do your own research mentored by one of your professors. In the lab, you'll use modern instrumentation and practice the latest laboratory techniques. You even have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular research projects.
When you graduate from Texas Wesleyan, you'll be ready to take on many different careers in the chemical industry or go on to graduate school or professional school.
The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program provides funding to institutions of higher education to provide scholarships, stipends and programmatic support to recruit and prepare STEM majors and professional to become K-12 teachers. Juniors and seniors in STEM programs can earn between $10,000 and $23,400 based on need, and are mentored by experienced STEM teachers during clinical training.
