During your final semester a criminal justice major, you're required to participate in a semester-long internship to graduate. This internship is designed to give you experience in the field of criminology before graduation and help you decide what area of the profession you'd like to go into.
How can I prepare?

Allow yourself time to find your internship, get it approved by your advisor and get all of the details settled before you start. We're also required to run a background check on you before you are approved to start your internship.

What are you interested in? Start looking at organizations in the field that interest you. They may already offer internships or you can talk to them about creating one. After you find an internship opportunity, talk to your advisor and have them approve your choice.
Not sure where to look? Talk to your advisor about internship opportunities they may know about.
