In Her Own WordsIn my classroom, students are the "history detectives" as they learn tools that professional historians use. With the digital resources available to history students today, we can explore different types of primary sources as evidence to understand and analyze the past.
Small class sizes enable students to learn from one another as they discuss assigned readings and share study skills. As a teacher, I enjoy watching students make connections between the past and present and learn new ways to express their ideas.
I grew up in Fort Worth and have taught at Texas Wesleyan since 2013. In my spare time, I enjoy reading mystery novels, watching cooking shows on TV, and doing ancestry research.
I love doing research in archives. Previous digital history projects include developing the Research Guide to the Criminal Case Files of Fort Smith, Arkansas, 1866-1900 for the National Archives at Fort Worth, writing for the Ultimate History Project, and serving as a project historian for the Samuel P. Goddard Papers Online.
