Get your Principal Certification and lead the future of education. First, successfully complete the Administration concentration classes, then check off the following requirements and we’ll recommend you to sit for the Professional Principal Certification.
Certificate Requirements:
- Administration concentration courses
- Certified teacher with 2 years of teaching experience
- Master's degree in education or related fields from a regionally accredited university
- Complete Texas Wesleyan University's Leadership Institute
- 160 hours of Internship in a public school setting
- Pass the Principal TExES (Test Code 68)
Once you check those off you list, just apply for certification through Texas Wesleyan University's Certification Officer.
Learn how to develop literacy skill and engage stalled readers. Diagnose reading difficulties and help English as a Second Language readers and adult readers.
Certificate Requirements:
- Complete the Reading Specialist Certification courses in the Reading Specialist & Writing concentration
- A passing score on the TExES 151
- Application for recommendation completed and given to the department
Through our Superintendent Certificate program (through the Educational Leadership concentration), you'll build your analysis, problem-solving and leadership skills. You'll learn how to plan, implement and manage organizational change using data to create a collaborative culture.
In order to sit for the exam, you must:
- Hold a Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- Have a Principal Certification or the equivalent
- Complete an approved certificate program, like the one we have at Texas Wesleyan
The Second Language Education and Culture concentration leads to a TESOL Certificate, allowing students to teach English abroad. Students who have completed all the Second Language Education and Culture (SLEC) coursework may request approval to take the ESL Endorsement TExES (Test Code 154).
