Luis Pumarejo ’18

Young Alumni Achievement Award

A rising leader in the legal field, Luis Pumarejo has built an impressive career in a short time. After earning his degree from Texas Wesleyan and a Juris Doctor from UNT Dallas College of Law, he gained experience as a prosecutor before founding his own criminal defense firm. His work as an appointed Associate Judge and adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan reflects his commitment to justice, education, and mentoring future legal professionals.


Tom Locke

Honorary Alumni Award

Tom Locke’s legacy is defined by visionary leadership and service. As longtime president of the Texas Methodist Foundation, he oversaw extraordinary growth while advancing the mission of churches and institutions nationwide. A dedicated community leader and board member for multiple organizations, including Texas Wesleyan, Tom’s lifelong commitment to faith, service, and philanthropy continues to make a lasting impact.


Keith Critcher

Wesleyan Flame Award

With more than four decades of excellence in music and education, Keith Critcher has profoundly shaped the Texas Wesleyan community. Serving in multiple roles within the Music Department, he has inspired students and audiences alike through performance, teaching, and collaboration. His dedication to both campus and community music programs reflects a lifelong passion for the arts and for enriching the lives of others.


Patricia Castillo ’97, MBA ’08

A proud Fort Worth native and two-time alumna, Patricia Castillo has built a dynamic career in marketing and community engagement. From leading national campaigns to founding the nonprofit Connect Respect, she has consistently championed connection and empowerment. Her signature community festival and ongoing support of Texas Wesleyan scholarships highlight her deep commitment to giving back and creating opportunity for others.


Steve Courington ’87

Distinguished Alumni Award

Global executive, leadership advisor, and mentor, Steve Courington has spent nearly four decades shaping organizations and developing leaders around the world. Having held senior roles with Fortune 500 companies, he now helps organizations drive success through talent strategy. A dedicated servant leader, Steve’s commitment to mentorship, philanthropy, and community impact exemplifies the values of Texas Wesleyan.


Mary Pastusek ’76, MS '94

Alumni of the Year Award

Mary Pastusek’s life’s work reflects a deep devotion to education, music, and service. For nearly four decades, she inspired students as a music educator while also leading church music programs and contributing to her community. Her accomplishments as an educator, musician, and entrepreneur, paired with her enduring connection to Texas Wesleyan, make her a truly deserving honoree.
