The sociology department has many opportunities for you to get involved in the field before you graduate. Joining a student organization helps you gain insight into your field, make connections and meet new people. Get involved in sociology today.

As a sociology major, you're required to participate in a semester-long internship in your field. You're graded on daily journal entries throughout the internship and a final portfolio. Find an internship that interests you then visit your advisor to get it approved.

Alpha Kappa Delta is an international sociology honor society with more than 115,000 members. Members of this student-led organization have a chance to network with future employers and build their resume with leadership positions. Membership is limited to sociology majors.

The Sociology Club was created by the sociology students as a place where they meet and discuss issues, both of an academic nature, and a societal nature. All sociology students have in common a desire to make a difference in their community. We work well with our local neighbors in the Rosedale and PolyHeights communities. 

We want to encourage students to take civic responsibility by becoming more informed about their community. One of our projects is the on-campus food pantry, run by and for students.
