There are a few important things to know about your Texas Wesleyan institutional scholarship. See the policy below and contact the Office of Financial Aid with any questions you may have.
To be eligible to receive your institutional scholarships each year, you must maintain a 2.0 GPA and 67% pace (completion rate). If you are not meeting these Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards, you will not be eligible for your scholarships. If you would like for your scholarships to be reinstated, you will be required to complete a SAP Appeal. Please review the SAP Policy for more details.
Students must enroll as full-time students to receive full-time financial aid. Full-time enrollment status for undergraduate students is defined as being enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at Texas Wesleyan University each semester. Scholarship awards will be prorated for students who enroll in less than a full-time status based on the number of credits they are enrolled in. For example, if a student is enrolled in 9 credit hours, they would receive 75% of the full-time scholarship amount for that semester. Once the student resumes full-time enrollment status the scholarship will be awarded at the full amount.
Study abroad
Texas Wesleyan scholarships cannot be used for classes or fees associated with the Study Abroad program. However, there is other financial aid such as grants, loans and outside scholarships that you can use to cover the cost.
Consortium classes
Texas Wesleyan scholarships cannot be used to pay for classes through the online College Consortium.
Students have the option to use their scholarships to pay for classes taken during the summer. They're eligible to use the same amount allotted for fall and spring semesters if enrolled in at least 12 credit hours. If enrolled in less than 12 credit hours, the scholarship is prorated.
