The mission of the gallery is to educate, serve, enrich and encourage appreciation and understanding of visual art through direct engagement with original works of art. Through exhibitions, the gallery provides a central place for visitors to see these works of art.
The gallery allows faculty, students, staff and the community an opportunity to teach, reflect, research and interpret the creative accomplishments of artists through different exhibitions and examples from Texas Wesleyan’s permanent art collection.
The goal of the Bernice Coulter Templeton Art Studio Gallery is to enrich the quality of life for all members of the Texas Wesleyan community, to spearhead interdisciplinary educational opportunities on campus, and to connect with the surrounding East Fort Worth community.
Texas Wesleyan's permanent art collection is very diverse. The collection has developed over the years primarily through donations. It has everything from American, European, early Texas artists and former faculty and student artists.
Currently, artworks belonging to Texas Wesleyan are located in various offices and public spaces. We're constantly working to maintain and expand the permanent collection with exceptional examples of historically significant and contemporary art. The Bernice Coulter Templeton Art Studio Gallery website provides a centralized venue for visitors to see works in the collection.
