About the Building

Originally the building was the location of the civic offices and firehouse for the Polytechnic area. Subsequently, it was a bakery and when acquired by Texas Wesleyan it was the black box for the Theatre Wesleyan.

Funded by the generosity of the Templeton Foundation, the building was renovated in 2015 to house two art studio classrooms. In 2017 a proposal was accepted to create a university art gallery on the bottom floor.
