Charles Gray: “Where The Flavor Is”

Opening Reception: March 29, 5-8 p.m.

Exhibition Dates: March 31 - May 29, 2025

The Bernice Coulter Templeton Gallery is proud to present “Where The Flavor Is” a multimedia exhibition by Charles Gray. Charles Gray is a resident and artist of Fort Worth, where he attended Tarrant County College and the University of Texas at Arlington. Charles’s paintings are a personal conversation about community and comments on the lexicon of the black experience from a place of autobiographical happiness. The relationship between anime, Pokémon cards and church is supreme in his family’s pursuit of happiness. He seeks to create an atmosphere informed by key lime green walls housing church fans with his family’s images on them and anime that has been re-rendered as black people and portraits on Pokémon cards.
