Expanding Your Horizons

About the Program

Expanding Your Horizons is a one-day conference held every Spring for middle school girls. The conference focuses on creating interest in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) fields. These 7th- and 8th-grade girls will have the opportunity to meet professional women in science and math-related careers.

Presenters give a 45-minute presentation including information about themselves, their career and a short hands-on activity. Each session has anywhere from 15-18 young women.

How do I volunteer?

Are you interested in volunteering for the Expanding Your Horizons conference? We need female students who can lead groups, help with registration and help presenters set up their equipment. Download the volunteer form, fill it out and return it to Jane Moore in the Ella C. McFadden Science Center 110A.

There will be a volunteer meeting in early spring to let you know what to expect the day of the conference.
