A grant is a financial award, often, but not always, from a federal or government agency. You apply for grants when you fill out the FAFSA. Generally, grants do not have to be repaid.

 

Federal Pell Grant (PELL)

Amount: Maximum $5,920 per academic year
Who: Low-income undergraduate students based on FAFSA results

 

Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

Amount: Maximum $500 per academic year
Who: Enrolled full-time Pell recipients with the lowest EFC's for the year have primary consideration

 

Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG)

Amount: Maximum $3,300 per academic year
Who: Limited to other students who are:

  • Texas residents
  • Not receiving an athletic scholarship or athletic room grant
  • Religion majors are not eligible for this grant
 

Wesleyan Grant  (WG)

Amount: Varies based on need.
Who: UG students with need based on completed FAFSA

  • Award will be adjusted or canceled if other institutional, federal, state or outside aid is awarded (Including athletic aid, music, theatre or endowments)
